Dr. Rika Prodhan-Ashraf is originally from Houston, Texas but has lived most of her adult life in the East Coast. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Anthropology with Honors from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine in Long Island, New York.
After dental school, Dr. Prodhan pursued further training through a General Practice Residency at Harlem Hospital Center/Columbia University in New York City. There she worked closely with the oral surgery team to gain proficiency in dental surgical procedures, emergency medicine, and management of medically complex, geriatric, and pediatric patients, and those with special needs.
Dr. Prodhan practiced as a dentist in New York before moving to Sacramento, California in 2016. She enjoys performing restorative and cosmetic dentistry, dental surgical procedures, and she is Invisalign certified. She has multiple professional affiliations, including the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, Sacramento District Dental Society, New York Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry. She has also pursued several continuing education courses in evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders.
Dr. Prodhan lives with her husband in Sacramento. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking, reading, and catching up with family and friends.
